Shipping Agents and Senders

Different Approaches

When setting up Cargonizer Connector you can set the solution up in three different approaches when it comes to Sender IDS.

A sender refers to the pickup location from which you would like your goods to be transported. A sender ID is a number used to identify the sender.

You can set your senders up using one of these approaches:

  1. Default Sender ID only
  2. Location Specific Senders only
  3. A combination of the two

You can see a description of the different approaches below:

Default Sender ID only

This means that you only define one sender ID and that it is not connected to a specific Location Business Central.

The sender ID is defined either on the page "Cargonizer Connector Setup" or in the Assisted Setup for Cargonizer Connector:

The Default Sender ID on the Cargonizer Connector Setup page The Default Sender ID defined on the Setup Page

The Default Sender ID in the Cargonizer Connector Assisted Setup Wizard The Default Sender ID defined in the Assisted Setup Wizard

Location specific Sender ID(s)

This means that you have not specified a default sender ID and that the sender ID(s) are only specified on the Location Cards for the locations from which you want to ship your goods. A location with a sender ID specified

Multiple Sender ID(s)

When your account data in Cargonizer is retrieved by Cargonizer Connector a Shipping Agent will be created in Business Central for each carrier that you have an agreement with in Logistra Cargonizer.

If you have multiple senders (pickup locations), a Shipping Agent will be created for each transport agreement of each sender.

This means that numerous Shipping Agents are created for the same carrier if different senders (pickup locations) have agreements with that carrier.

Since all your Sender IDs are connected to specific locations only the Shipping Agents pertaining to the Location on the Sales Order from which you would like to create a shipment will be visible.

Multiple Sender ID(s)

If you have multiple senders (pickup locations), a Shipping Agent will be created for each transport agreement of each sender.

This means that numerous Shipping Agents are created for the same carrier if different senders (pickup locations) have agreements with that carrier.

Since you have both a default sender ID and Location specific sender ID(s) you will see all Shipping Agents when you have a Location selected on the sales order that is not connected to a Sender ID.

Therefore make sure to double check that the Shipping Agent you select on your sales orders is connected to the Sender ID of the location from which you want to ship your items.

However if you select a Location that has a Sender ID connected to it on a Sales Order then the Shipping Agents will be filtered to that Sender ID.

Shipping Agents not filtered to a Sender ID Shipping agents where a Location without a Sender ID has been selected here the user needs to make sure to select the carrier with the correct Sender ID
